Telenor bolsters its broadband and TV operations
(Fornebu, 15 December 2015) Telenor Norway is bringing together all its fixed broadband and TV products and services into a powerful new division. The change will guarantee better services for customers and quicker broadband expansion.
Telenor Norway’s modernisation and simplification of its fixed network services is continuing. This change is part of the course of modernisation for the fixed network area.
‘This merger is important, and we have a great deal of work ahead of us. We will continue to invest billions of kroner in our infrastructure to ensure everyone has access to TV and Internet. This will allow us to provide Norwegians with the digital future they want,’ says Berit Svendsen, CEO of Telenor Norway.

The new division will be responsible for all broadband and TV services provided by the Canal Digital Cable TV and Telenor brands.
‘By bringing together all our resources into one division, we will be able to provide a more competitive offering and develop our broadband and TV services quicker and more effectively than before,’ says Birgit Bjørnsen, the newly appointed Director of Fixed Network and TV at Telenor Norway.
Birgit Bjørnsen has worked for Telenor since 2000. She moves to the role from her position as Marketing Director for Broadband and Fixed Telephony, and has held various managerial and directorial roles in sales, marketing and products in the mobile and fixed network divisions. Bjørnsen holds an MBA from the BI Norwegian Business School and has management experience from various roles she held at Saga Petroleum prior to joining Telenor. She will join Telenor Norway’s management team in the New Year.
No reduction in personnel
The reorganisation covers around 570 employees, and will not result in any reduction in personnel numbers.
The new organisation will be launched on 1 January 2016.
